I wanted you to know just how fabulous our new security company is. They arrive on time and stay through to their shift's end. Their written logs are professional, legible and document important situations and they use the probe accurately. The SO's dress in uniforms that identify them as security. What I like is that their presence is professional, courteous and very capable. No one gets through the gate onto the site before or after hours without being stopped, questioned for authenticity and some type of written documentation entered into the log. Common fact is that most break-ins are inside jobs. These SO's present themselves as intelligent and professional and I believe set a high standard of security presence on the jobsite. They are certainly a pleasure to work with.

Earlier this year I became the proud owner of some apartment building in the center avenue Division St. area of Oceanside. Although I was aware of the crime and drug problems in the area I was surprised with it’s axient. It was really out of control and needed to be cleaned up before any of these properties would operator profitably.
I started contacting some of the other apartment owners in the same area to discuss this problem and what was being done about it. What I learned was that other than calling the local police department when problems arose, nothing else was being done. The Oceanside police department were doing their best to stay on top of the problems but with their limited budget they were not adequately staffed to get control of the problems in the area… something additional needed to be done.
Some of the owners I had spoken with mentioned that there used to be an association of apartment owners for the area. I suggested that it might be a good idea to reactivate this owners group and with the assistance of some of these owners we started up the group again.
At one of our first meetings it was agreed that the first item off business should be to do something about getting control of the crime and drug problems in the area. We know that that if we could solve this problem all the other issues like vacancies, rental rates, etc would work themselves out. We decided to hire a security company to work in association with the police and local authorities. After negotiating with the different security companies in the area we decided to move ahead with Oceanside security.
On November I we hired Oceanside security to exclusively patrol the area between the freeway and weltzel street and center avenue and Missouri street. The rate they offered depended on a majority of the apartment owners in the area participating and with a lot of work, mailing and telephone calls we got over 80% participation in the program. It’s been an overwhelming success and we still have to contact the remaining owners whose ownership is well hidden and some of the properties are either owned by Banks or in some stage of the foreclosure process, but once they are contacted or the new owners take over we should be well over 90%.
According to officer Bob George of the Oceanside police department our area was one of two areas in Oceanside that had a decrease in crime. All other areas had an increase.
Oceanside security has come through for us and done an exceptional job cleaning up the problems in this area and I would like to personally thank them by writing this letter to you hopping it will get published to other people can see that when you put your mind to something, nothing is impossible.
